Developed in part by NACCHO, the Preconception Health and Health Care Resource Center is a comprehensive online directory of hyperlinks to tools and resources designed to advance the health of men and women of reproductive age. Materials and strategies are grouped into four categories: (1) health education materials for women and men; (2) clinical strategies and model programs; (3) policy strategies and resources; and (4) state and local strategies and model programs. |

MCH Navigator Webinar: An Online Resource for Local Health Departments
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau's MCH Navigator is a new learning portal that facilitates the use of existing open-access training and is organized in areas consistent with nationally endorsed public health and MCH leadership competencies. On Oct. 23 (3:00-4:00 PM EDT), NACCHO will host an interactive webinar on how local health departments can use this resource. |

NACCHO is accepting Model Practices applications through Oct. 31. Since 2003, NACCHO's Model Practices Program has recognized and shared outstanding local public health practices through the Model Practices Database. Maternal and Child Health in Island Communities
The Maternal and Child Health Journal is accepting manuscript submissions on the unique maternal and child health challenges, needs, policy options, and experiences of island communities. Manuscripts may present research, policy analyses, program development and implementation, and program evaluation. Papers will be accepted through January 2013. |

Compendium of NACCHO Policy Statements
NACCHO recently updated its compendium of policy recommendations to reflect policy statements approved by the board of directors or revised since August 2011. NACCHO and local health department leaders use policy statements to educate and urge action by federal and state officials, partner organizations, the media, and the public. |
