Greetings!

As many of you are aware, I am preparing to run 594 miles in 10-11 days  to help raise money for good water in areas that do not have access to this necessity.  We are calling it Badwater 4 Good Water! 

As part of the fundraising efforts, we will be hosting a 5k race for Badwater 4 Good Water here in Teton Valley on Saturday, July 6th. This event will include a Longest Drive for Water Competition  Badwater 4 Goodwater at the Teton Reserve Golf Course and more. Save the date and watch for upcoming details!  If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Julie at  [email protected]. Store and Fitness Class News
ASSISTANT HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY COACH NEEDED!  Teton High School is seeking an assistant cross country coach for the 2013 season.  The commitment is Monday thru Thursday 3:15 pm - 6:00 pm for practice and attendance at all race events beginning August through November. OULA FITNESS:  One hour of high-octane, crazy-fun dance energy fitness to top 40s music!  Classes held on Monday at 9:00 am in the Yoga Room.

YOGA IS BACK!!!!  Beginning June 13, Yoga for all levels will be available Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the Yoga Room.  Instructor:  Connie

SUMMER SCHEDULE:  With Summer comes a new fitness class schedule. Here are some schedule changes which will be effective through the end of August: 
  • Tuesday 4:30 PM with Char- CANCELLED. Replaced with Wednesday 4:30 PM with Lisa
  • Beginning July 23rd Char will teach Core Fitness Wednesday 9:00 AM.
  • Beginning June 13th Lisa will teach a 1 1/2 hour Outdoor Boot Camp at Teton Springs Thursday 8:00 AM.  Please note that there is no childcare available for this class.    
  • Thursday 5:30 PM with Char - CANCELLED 

There will be no class offered on the following dates/times in June:

 

Tuesday June 18th - 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm

Tuesday June 25th - 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm

 

In addition, we will not be offering classes on scheduled race days.  The Targhee Hill Climb, Run for Wray is scheduled for Saturday June 29th.  There will be no group runs or class on this day.

 

We will make every effort to send out reminders on days when classes are scheduled for cancellation, however, please mark these dates on your calendars. 

 

Also, don't forget about the FREE track workouts on Tuesdays 6:00 PM and group runs Saturday 7:00 AM.  See sidebar for additional details.

 

RACE UPDATES:  If you are planning to participate in one, or many, of our great race events, please like the Facebook event page for up to the minute information.  We will post event updates in our weekly newsletter also, however, you will receive event information as soon as it becomes available on the Facebook page.

Each week we will pick one fitness/nutrition question submitted by you, our clients, and feature it in this section along with an answer to the question.  All questions will be answered by one of our great coaches here at Dreamchasers.  Please indicate if there is a specific coach that you would like your question directed to.
                                                           

Safe Road Running

The general rule of thumb for running roads is to run against traffic.  This allows you to be aware of the traffic coming at you and not blinded to what is coming behind you.  If you are approaching hills or curves, the opposite is true.  Switch sides so that you are running with the flow of traffic (when clear, of course).  You don't want to get caught in a driver's blind spot which is where you will be if you don't make the switch.  Once you have cleared the climb or the turn, return to the opposite side.

Tuna, Asparagus and White Bean Salad

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook the asparagus in a large pan of boiling water for 4-5 mins until tender. Drain well, cool under running water, then cut into finger-length pieces. Toss together the tuna, beans, onion, capers and asparagus in a large serving bowl.
  2. Mix the oil, vinegar and tarragon together, then pour over the salad. Chill until ready to serve.

Saturday morning group runs will begin June 15th.  Meet at Dreamchasers at 7:00 am. We will go out until 9:00 am and then return just in time for class!  All levels.
