WOOLY WORM WEEKEND BLOWOUT

EVERYTHING MUST GO!

Children's visions of sugar plums on the night before Christmas can't hold a candle to a wine lover's anticipation of Erick's third annual Wooly Worm Weekend no-holds-barred extravagant all-world everything-must-go blowout wine sale. Bowing to popular demand, we will begin our sale this Saturday (not Sunday) and doors will be open Sunday 12:00 to 5:00 and Monday beginning at 10:00.

Fall is the time our distributors like to clean house to make room for the new arriving vintage and we get deep discount pricing from them that we pass on to you. In fact, we are able to offer you pricing at or below our normal COST on many items.   For example, we will be selling a fabulous 90-92-point rated northern Rhône Syrah from the appellation of St. Joseph for $29.99, the regular price would be $42.99. This is a savings to you of $13.00.  The are many savings like this in the sale. We have stocked up on multiple cases of 40 different wines from all around the globe so we know we have something for everyone at prices that can't be beat.

Saturday, we'll be pouring four of our Wooly Worm sale wines for you to see what great values we're offering:

2010 Nino Franco Prosecco "Primo" (Italy, was $32.99, now $22.99). Wine Advocate (91 points): "The 2010 Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Dry Primo Franco is laced with white peaches, flowers and sweet spices. It possesses excellent energy and focus all the way through to the creamy finish, where the wine blossoms nicely. This is first-rate juice. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014."

2007 Saraco Monferrato (Italy, was 30.99, now $24.99). Wine Advocate (90 points): "The 2007 Pinot Nero offers up candied red cherries, flowers and spices with tons of inner perfume and fine silky tannins that accompany the fruit through to the long, silky finish. This medium-bodied Pinot possesses exceptional balance and poise. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015."

2005 Coursodon St. Joseph "L'Olivaie" (France, was $42.99, now $29.99). Ladies and gentlemen, this is the real McCoy. Just to let you know I practice what I preach, I have a case of this in my cellar and have been enjoying it, and it is drinking like a million dollars right now! And Robert Parker agrees with me; from the Wine Advocate (90-92 points): "Blueberry and black berry notes intermixed with licorice, a touch of incense and spice along with some tapenade, characterize the 2005 St.-Joseph l'Olivaie. This wine is opaque bluish purple to the rim, full-bodied, with terrific acidity and wonderful precision and length. Give it 1-3 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 10-12 years. "

For a $5.00 donation to The Avery County Humane Society you can taste:

2008 Château de Saint Cosme Châteauneuf du Pape (France, was $55.99, now $45.99). From Wine Advocate (90 points): "one of the more noteworthy successes of the vintage. It exhibits a dark ruby color along with sweet aromas of berries, roasted herbs, loamy soil and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied as well as surprisingly rich and concentrated for a 2008, it should drink nicely for 7-8 years."
