While the promise of Spring and Summer usually puts a little bounce in my step with thoughts of Giants' baseball, Summer BBQ's with friends, Quilt Market, vacations, and warmer weather, I must admit I'm not quite as enthusiastic as usual. As you peruse the newsletter, you might notice that Jody is not offering any classes this time. Some of you have already heard that Jody will be leaving the area and moving to Vancouver, Washington to be closer to her family.

Jody and I have worked side by side for nearly 11 years, teaching classes, creating new programs in the store, growing the business with the addition of "Sewfie", our long-arm quilting machine, and having a ton of fun while doing it! Each year since 2007, we've travelled to Quilt Market where together we made decisions on what new books, patterns and notions would be most appealing, inspiring and irresistible to you all. Many customers thought we were sisters. I always considered that a compliment (and told everyone I was the younger sister)!

I couldn't ask for a better store manager or friend to have shared the wild ride of owning a retail business. No one knows more than I how sorely missed Jody will be by all of you and by her Granary family.

Have no fear! We will continue to offer the same top-notch quality of edge-to-edge quilting services you have become accustomed to and have been working hard to hopefully ensure a "seamless" transition!

Please join us on Friday, May 1, from 5:00-8:00pm, at the Granary to wish Jody good luck on her new adventure--we aren't saying good bye! Being a fan of the Giants, the Sharks, and the California sunshine, she's promised she'll be back frequently to visit, and she's asked for dibs on my guest room! Maybe she'll even have time to work on a new sample or two and become a regular "guest teacher" at the Granary?!
