There's so much going on! Have you been sewing during National Sewing Month? You have a few more weeks to use this great excuse to sew (if you need one!). Next weekend is the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival in Pleasanton (click here for a program). Stop by the shop for a flyer that allows you free admission! Also, be sure to mark your calendars for the Pacific International Quilt Festival (PIQF) happening October 17-20 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. We're so lucky to have this show in our backyard!

Not to be outdone, there's also plenty going on in the shop! Check out the schedule of classes listed in this newsletter or on our website.

Martingale/That Patchwork Place is having a great promotion! Simply purchase ANY Martingale/That Patchwork Place book, send your receipt and a coupon to Martingale and they will send you a $10 rebate! We have a special display of some of their books near the front counter....the rest are scattered around the shop. The promotion continues through the end of December.

Stella Lighting

Stella continues to be popular and now the desktop model will have a companion in the shop! StellaEDGE (clamps on to the edge of the table) arrives in November! We anticipate receiving our order around the beginning of November. If you would like to reserve one please let us know and we'll put you on the list! Stop by the shop and see just how wonderful Stella is. We have a light displayed in our classroom for you to experiment with! Visit Stella's website for more information.

Quilt Appraisal

Do you have a special quilt you've wanted to have appraised? Here's your chance! Nancy Bavor, American Quilter's Society Certified Appraiser of quilted textiles, will be in the shop on Tuesday, September 24 from 10:30am-5:30pm for quilt appraisals. Please call or stop by to make your appointment. Appraisals are $45 per quilt - appointments are scheduled in 30 minute increments.

Hampton Ridge Block of the Month Class

The easiest and most fun way to quilt is with fellow quilters who share similar interests! Join Louise each month as we sew our way through a glorious fabric collection by Paula Barnes. Perfect your piecing skills each month as we learn new tips and techniques to enhance your quilting knowledge as Louise guides you through the forty-one 5" blocks that create this 88" square Civil War Era replica. Class breaks down each month's blocks into manageable, doable steps. A kit containing your fabric and pattern will be ready for you each month. Classes typically meet on the last Wednesday of each month (with some exceptions).

One-time class fee of $110 for 12-month program
Monthly kit fee $25

Return of the "Twinkler Sewciety"!

In 2005 we launched our fat quarter club and called it the "Twinkler Sewciety". We don't really remember why we ended it but customers have been asking for its return for a few years! There are so many more books and patterns dedicated to fat quarter projects now that we decided it's the perfect time to bring it back! Here's how it works.... Each month you will receive 8 specially coordinated fat quarters made up of the newest fabrics in the shop. The cost is $20.95 (plus tax) per month and membership is offered by automatic credit card billing only. The program begins in October. Sign up today! You may join or cancel at any time; shipping is available for an additional fee.
