SJ Museum Q&TThe San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles has recently issued a plea for funds.  The museum is in dire straits and may be forced to close its doors if $80,000 is not raised by March 31, 2013.  Please take a look at the letter and their website and consider helping this worthy cause! It would be a shame to lose this valuable resource!

HHS Mustang It's time to gather up all the non-working electronics taking up space in your garage/attic/closets! Homestead High School in Cupertino is sponsoring an e-waste recycling event on Saturday, April 6 from 9am-3pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit the 2013 All Night Grad Party!  Click here for more information.

ArrowWhy we won't be offering you a bag on your next visit....
The Sunnyvale bag ban began Wednesday, March 20. Just like Plastic bag other cities, we are required to charge for any paper bags given with a purchase.  To avoid the headache of the City's quarterly reporting requirements relative to paper bag sales, I have decided that we will no longer offer paper bags at all. We will continue to sell our reusable bags for $1.95. I hope you won't mind remembering to bring your own bag when you shop at the Granary-doesn't everyone have a trunkful of reusable bags like I do?!

Easter Eggs We will be closed Sunday, March 31 for Easter.  Hippity Hoppity!!

Amish with a Twist II - Block of the Month
Amish with a Twist 2I'm so excited to share some news you've all been patiently waiting for!! We are now ready to launch the new Amish With a Twist II Block of the Month program featuring the rich solid fabrics from Marcus Bros. and an amazing pattern designed by Nancy Rink! Amish With a Twist II draws inspiration for both the block designs and color palette from quilts that are considered to be quintessentially Amish by quilt lovers and collectors. This 105" square quilt contains 29 different solid colors and 12 different skill-building block designs (64 blocks in all) set medallion style. The blocks are designed and grouped together utilizing related techniques or similarity in block design, progressing from the easiest to the more challenging techniques. Nancy's user-friendly patterns contain colored diagrams and visual guides. She has also designed and included five exclusive "Extending the Lesson" bonus projects. This quilt is appropriate for quilters of every skill level.

Our 6-month program will begin April 1 and continue through September 2013. Kits run $34.95 plus tax per month; a $40 membership fee will be charged when you register and then applied to your last month's kit; shipping is available for an additional cost. We are frantically working on our shop sample-the blocks are beautiful! The first 12 participants will receive our brand-new Granary clear vinyl handled tote bag for free! Call the shop today or come by for more details.
