It's ready! The current newsletter is available for you to download and print! We appreciate your patience...the holidays, vacations, store recarpet, restaging the store, all took time away from the paper version of our programs and classes! It's much easier to cuddle up in a quilt with a printed version of our class schedule and your calendar! Computers aren't too cozy!

Quilt Appraisal:

Antique Quilts Magazine Do you have a special quilt you've wanted to have appraised? Here's your chance! Nancy Bavor, American Quilter's Society Certified Appraiser of quilted textiles, will be in the shop on Tuesday, January 29 from 10:30am-4:30pm for quilt appraisals. Please call or stop by to make your appointment. Appraisals are $45 per quilt - appointments are scheduled in 30 minute increments. Did you know there are only 90 AQS certified quilt appraisers in the U.S. and Canada and Nancy is the only AQS certified appraiser in Northern California?!

Each year the American Quilt Study Group publishes a journal of the papers presented at their annual seminar. Uncoverings premiers essays that represent the most recent advances in quilt and related research. Featured papers have covered areas such as cultural roles associated with quilting and quilters, period analysis of quilting, and studies on quilt media. Nancy Bavor's essay, Common Threads: Nine California Art Quilt Pioneers, serves as the opening chapter! You will find copies of this book in the shop! Congratulations Nancy!

Happy Hour

To the right is the beautiful quilt Sarah created using November's red and black fat quarters. Stop by the shop for Cozy Quilts "Open Star" pattern to create your own beautiful quilt!

We will be starting Happy Hour 2013 with a quilt featuring 2 1/2" strips. Jody is very excited about this month's pattern! You're going to LOVE it! Join us on Friday, January 25 6:30-8pm. Call or stop by the shop today to sign up for this fun evening! $40 includes the fabric and the pattern....and of course, fun!

Small Blocks of the Month

Sarah & Sandy will be sharing the "small block of the month" duties in 2013 and will be offering 2 patterns this year! Both patterns are from one of our most favorite designers, Amy Bradley Designs--Animal Whimsy and Merry Christmas. We are now accepting sign ups for both BOM programs. These easy, fusible applique blocks are so do-able when you only make one per month. Animal Whimsy will run $13.95/month and Merry Christmas $14.95/mo.; this price includes 12 monthly fabric kits and a finishing kit (sashing and/or borders). Save 10% on your pattern when you sign up for either program; we are also offering a 10% discount when you pre-pay for all 12 months! Programs offered by automatic credit card billing only--shipping is available for an additional fee.

Tyler Rose Block of the Month

Paula and Julie will begin their fourth block of the month quilt together in January. This year's stunning quilt, Tyler Rose Parade, comes from designer, Deb Luttrell, of Stitchin' Heaven, and features 30 beautiful, pieced blocks-15 unique blocks and 15 of the same alternating block. Each block is named for and celebrates a rose from Tyler, Texas, the rose capital of America. The finished quilt measures 88" x 102". This program is designed for the advanced beginner to intermediate quilter and will focus on precision cutting, piecing and pressing so that this quilt and all your future quilts will go together in a snap.
