Why Most Skin Care Creams Don't Work
There are so many skin cream products on the market today it is mind boggling. Many of them are quite pricey, with promising ingredients. Yet I hear repeatedly from my patients how disappointing so many of these products are in terms of the expected results.
Why is this the case?
Our skin serves as a natural barrier to keep toxins out of our body. Topical creams and serums applied to the skin are generally absorbed only about 7-8% Think about that for a minute, and you realize that over 90% of these expensive products is literally being washed down the drain. That is very frustrating, not to mention wasteful and expensive.
These challenges have been addressed by some very clever people who developed techniques of maximizing absorption to improve effectiveness of skin treatments. Thus the evolution of Dermal Rolling or Dermal Needling.
What is Dermal Rolling or Needling ?
Dermal needling actually dates back to early Egyptian days, when royal princesses used primitive needling techniques to implant placenta extract into the face to restore youthful skin texture.
In modern times skin needling has become extremely popular in Asia utilizing concentrated human stem cell extracts to beautify the skin. This groundbreaking combination of the new stem cell derived extracts with dermal needling produces revolutionary effectiveness of these treatments by enhancing absorption of the serums.
Home needling is also gaining attention. The difference is that Professional Dermal Needling is a technique requiring application of a topical numbing agent so that longer needles can be used without discomfort. The longer needles produce much better results than home needling. The treatment serum is worked into the skin by the roller device with hundreds of tiny surgical stainless steel pins rolled repeatedly over the face, neck, chest or extremities creating thousands of tiny microscopic holes in the upper layers of the skin.(Not unlike aerating the lawn)
What is the effect of this?
The tiny channels created by the needles remain open only for a brief amount of time during which skin nourishing nutrients are applied. Absorption of these topical nutrients is boosted to over 80% as compared to 7 or 8% without the needling.
This enhanced absorption produces more dramatic effects of skin products. Additionally, the needling itself stimulates a healing response to the tiny holes created. This healing activation attracts messengers in the body that generates the production of organized collagen under the skin. Stimulating collagen produces firmer, plumper, smoother, more evenly pigmented skin. Skin cells are not damaged or burned as in laser or fraxel treatments. No toxic or artificial fillers are applied. However, if one prefers, needling can be combined with fillers or botox to get additional results.
I am combining dermal needling with growth factors, fibroblasts, cytokines ,vitamins, peptides and hyaluronic acid. Some of these agents are derived from embryonic umbilical cord stem cells or placenta. The effects of these treatments are similar to or greater than those acheived with fraxel, laser, pulsed light, botox or fillers, without the complicating risks, down time or damage to the skin.
Dermal rolling yields excellent results in many skin conditions including wrinkles, thin skin, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, premature ageing, scars, lax skin, UV damage, and stretch marks.
The goal of any aesthetic skin treatment is to result in smooth, plump, firm, evenly pigmented skin.
Dermal rolling is safe for all types of skin with minimal risk of complications.I am offering two dermal roller needling treatments. Pricing varies based on the agents applied to the skin. (The stem cell derived reagents are more expensive and more effective)
When skin is healthy it will look its best, and so will you.
The results of dermal rolling always look natural, and there is virtually no risk. It is effective and affordable.
