JFSA Awarded Saltzman Youth Panel Grants
|
The 2013-14 Maurice Saltzman Youth Panel of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland recommended grants to 12 local organizations, including JFSA, for crucial programs in the Jewish and general communities. The group awarded funds to Alyson's Place - JFSA Medical Clinic for medical equipment and the Hebrew Shelter Home for kosher food.
Panel members, selected through a competitive application process, meet seven times throughout the school year. They create a Request for Proposals, review grant applications, learn about consensus decision-making and, in the end, have a tremendous impact on programs and organizations which improve the lives of others.
JFSA thanks the Saltzman Youth Panel for this funding which will support important client programs.

JFSA's Client Art Exhibit and Performance Night, "Renaissance Reborn," began its summer long tour at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage on Tuesday, May 6th.
Ascentia and PLAN art therapy groups explored a Renaissance theme focusing on the flourish of growth and change during that time period. Clients and members learned about the art, drama, scientific inventions, architecture, fashion, and culture of the Renaissance.
Over 65 people attended the Performance Night which showcased client artwork including paintings and poetry. Clients also lectured on what they have learned about the Renaissance and performed original musical pieces.
"The Client Art Exhibit is the highlight of our year," explains PLAN's Holistic Recovery Coordinator Jacquie Houser. "We have such a great planning and preparing for this event and the result is always something very special."
The exhibit will be on display next at the ADAMHS board located 2012 W. 25th Street, 6th Floor, Cleveland 44113 between June 2nd - 13th.
The Client Art Exhibit is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
