Ideas to Make You more Productive
We're kind of in the wish granting business, as long as you're not requesting untold riches or expecting us to find you a suitable mate. But we can, in a convoluted way, grant your wish for more hours in the day, which we know most event planners have been hoping for forever.
We can do it but sharing some ideas for making you more productive. These were developed by Kelli White on the Event Manager Blog, and they make a lot of sense.
1. Organize checklists: "One of the most important parts of the day is the 20-30 minutes you spend planning out the tasks you need to accomplish. Set aside time to relax, drink your coffee and plan out what your day needs to look like to be a success."
2. Turn Off Distractions: "After you get yourself organized, turn off...your phone and email alerts until you are ready to move to these types of tasks."
3. Start Out Small: Just as you can make mountains out of molehills, you can also do the reverse. White suggests "breaking your large-scale projects into smaller, more-attainable tasks."
4. Stop Multitasking: "When you are struggling to stay focused...try seeing one task through to completion before moving on."
5. Properly Utilize a Calendar or Agenda: "Having your entire schedule at a glance allows you to focus on upcoming projects."
6. Find Your Time of Day: "Being self-aware and honest about your most productive hours will help you to increase your output."
7. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: "Overall health and wellness, such as eating the right foods and getting enough sleep, will ensure you can stay on task and alert."
There you go. Next wish?
