Unparalleled Resurrection Celebrations!

The Church at Antioch
Central Community Church in Fresno's kids' choir

This Easter season was spectacular for our churches! We saw people responding to the gospel message in faith, testimonies of transformation and baptisms, outreaches that were far-reaching and connecting with the community, breakthrough messages and musical expressions, celebrations of resurrection and hope, high attendance days, new facilities opened... and more!

Prayer Requests and Updates

Join us in praying for:

All who made decisions and public declaration of their faith
over the Easter season and for appropriate follow-up.

For all who promised to attend church, but didn't-
-that they will not miss the opportunity to still come in the next few weeks!

John Hanson (left)

Sharon and the entire Hanson family; Pastor John Hanson passed away on April 2 after battling for several weeks in the hospital. Pastor John served in many capacities in the district over his more than five decades of ministry service--from Youth Pastor at Grace Baptist of Santa Maria to his most notable role as founding pastor of Parkway Community Church in Fairfield. He is loved and remembered for his passion for Jesus and souls, compassion for people of every background, faithfulness to his family and call, and his quick and unquenchable wit.

The family of Pastor Chu Nguyen, father of Pastor Huong Nguyen of the Vietnamese Baptist Conference Church of Sacramento; Pastor Chu died late last month. He was a faithful and courageous gospel minister in Viet Nam during times of great peril and locally in Sacramento. His work produced the beginnings of the church Pastor Huong now leads.

Janet Sevillano, wife of Pastor Mauricio of Iglesia Nuevo Comienzo in Antioch. She is recovering from surgery.

Janyce Casey, wife of Pastor Mike Casey and Office Manager for Berean Bible Fellowship in Atascadero, is preparing for surgery later this month at Stanford.

CPW staffing needs: Amy Field (last month) and Wilmina Taghap (this month) are pursuing God's direction for themselves and have resigned from their CPW duties. We are happy for them and praying God's continued blessing on their lives and families.
We are sad about these changes and will miss them sorely! This means we will be attempting to fill the roles of Church Planting Assistant and Event Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. Please be praying for the search process and feel free to recommend people to us who might serve in either of these roles! Job descriptions available here.

Ask God to lead all our churches and district to realize our Better Together Goals:
  • BetterGospelSharing, resulting in waves of people saved, baptized, and well-discipled
  • BetterChurchHealth, resulting in leaders and congregations fulfilling their God-given mission with joy and power
  • BetterPastorFitness, with pastors courageously leading, helped by God and a peer network
  • BetterChurchStarting, with established churches supporting life and community transforming church plants
  • BetterWorldImpact, resulting in the world seeing our good deeds--here, near, and far away--and glorifying the Father in heaven
