Welcome
to 2016

The Church@Antioch turned one year old.

BetterPastorFitness

The CPW office is a flurry of activity every January as we prepare fresh activities helping to Start and Strengthen Churches. The team is excited about our upcoming Pastors' and Wives' Retreat at Pismo Beach/Santa Maria (Jan. 10-12) where our key leaders will gather to reflect and reconnect. Too many pastors and pastoral couples are flirting with ministry burnout and the hazards it brings. We want each couple operating out of a place of faith, perspective, spiritual strength, and pacing that is sustainable, fruitful, and even fun!
Would you pray and work with me on this important matter of Better Pastor Fitness?

Loving and appreciating our pastors,

David Yetter
Executive Minister
Prayer Requests; CPW Day of Prayer is Tuesday, January 12
Praise God for all new and growing ministries of Converge PacWest! (Examples: Grace Church of Tracy, The Church@Antioch, MissionBay Church of San Francisco... check out their pics, videos, news reports above)
Golden HIlls of Brentwood, Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve at Crosswinds in Livermore
Pray for the follow-up of those who came to Christ through Christmas services and special events.

Pray for churches and pastors at important transition points:
  • Crosspoint of Santa Rosa is voting to affirm Pastor Mike Baker as their Lead Pastor on January 10.
  • Cornerstone of San Jose is voting on January 17 to decide whether they will to merge ministry efforts with Menlo San Jose
  • NewCov of Fresno is voting to affirm Pastor Scott Borman as their Lead Pastor on January 24.
  • Hillside Baptist of North Fork is beginning their search for a new Lead Pastor. Pastor Steve Crotinger resigned at the end of 2015 to pursue a ministry in a place that is better for Sarah's health.
Ask God to lead all our churches and district to realize:
  • BetterGospelSharing, resulting in waves of people saved, baptized, and well-discipled
  • BetterChurchHealth, resulting in leaders and congregations fulfilling their God-given mission with joy and power
  • BetterPastorFitness, with pastors courageously leading, helped by God and a peer network
  • BetterChurchStarting, with established churches supporting life and community transforming church plants
  • BetterWorldImpact, resulting in the world seeing our good deeds--here, near, and far away--and glorifying the Father in heaven

Kinsey Capaldo, daughter of Converge Heartland district executive minister Jim and his wife Kari:
Jan 3: "Today, we were super excited that Kinsey was able to attend church services for the first time since her sickness began in mid October...and what a sermon it was for all of us on her first day back!  The title of Pastor Dana Olson's sermon says it all, "What if God Allowed Satan to Test Your Faith to the Max?" ...Even though she is much more mobile, Kinsey still has a month of inpatient rehabilitation and things are looking up and forward. Keep praying for her right leg to heal..."
Pray for the entire family as they manage life, family and Kinsey's rehabilitation. (See Christmas pic to the right of the Capaldo family, Kinsey in blue)

A resource for CPW pastors...

We are pleased to announce that Converge PacWest (CPW) has joined with QuietWaters Ministries to bring you the CareLine.

The CareLine is a professional and confidential consulting resource for Converge PacWest pastors and their families, provided free of charge. Twelve (12) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, the CareLine answering service puts you in contact with one of QuietWaters' licensed, doctor or master level counselors with personal experience in ministry to talk about a personal or congregational issue. The counselors provide assessment, consultation and referral when you have personal, congregational, or ministry concerns and problems. You simply call the toll-free number 888-814-5550.

Contact the CPW office to find out more about the program.

Converge PacWest's mission is to glorify God by starting and strengthening churches that transform lives and communities here, near, and far away.
