A Call to Prayer
CPW Board Retreat Panel: John, Manny, Tony, and Chuck
Prayer, A Life Priority
The Apostle Paul started his apostleship in prayer and apparently ended it in prayer, as he was martyred. Relentlessly he gave thanks. Constantly he expressed utter dependence on the all-powerful, all-knowing God. Persistently he was on his knees for the churches he served. Paul set prayer as a life priority.

The greatest responsibility I have to you, the churches of Converge PacWest (CPW), is to pray for you. A further duty is to call you to pray and to keep prayer a priority.

Will you join me today, the second Tuesday of the month (our designated CPW Day of Prayer), praying for the prayer requests listed below?

What a privilege -- and priority -- to pray "to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen." Eph. 3:20-21

Prayer Requests for CPW Day of Prayer, Tuesday, October 14
  • That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know him better. Eph. 1:17
  • That the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which he has called us, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Eph. 1:18-19
    Pastor Pat and Michelle
  • For Pat and Michelle Gordon, Lead Pastoral Couple of Crosspoint Church in Santa Rosa. Pat was recently diagnosed with Advanced MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome-a bone marrow disease) transitioning into acute Leukemia.  He has had several blood transfusions and begun receiving low doses of chemo injections.   There are many unanswered questions with many doctor appointments to come and the strong possibility of a needed bone marrow transplant.
  • Praise God for the five new church plants that have launched recently, LifeCity Church of Santa Clara, Ignite of Roseville, The Way of Oakland, Oak Life of Oakland, and Ignite of Arden/Sacramento, and ask the Lord to
    President Scott Ridout
support and direct each pastor, core team, new convert, and every ongoing gospel outreach.
  • The CPW Staff could use your prayer support as each member is presently facing an unusual degree of spiritual testing.
  • Thanksgiving is in order as Converge Worldwide celebrates  the election of its new President, Scott Ridout!
  • Join us in giving thanks for the outstanding response and training that took place at CPW's Convivio Latino in Strathmore and inaugural Church Board Retreat in San Jose.
  • Continue to pray that God will lead us to realize...
    • BetterGospelSharing (5% of weekend attendance baptized in 2014)
    • BetterChurchHealth (66% of churches growing)
    • BetterPastorFitness (75% of pastors participating in LEAD Teams)

Berryessa Valley Church calls their new Lead Pastor

Rev. Chuck Austin, previous Interim Pastor, was enthusiastically called to be Berryessa Valley Church of San Jose's new Lead Pastor in September. Chuck is married to Janice, and they have two grown children, Ben and Holly, and one grandson. Chuck is a graduate of Denver Seminary (MA) and San Jose State (BA). Chuck brings a love for the Lord, His Word, the church, and people to this assignment.
