Board of Overseers Recommends Candidate for Next CWW President

Board of Overseers Recommends Candidate for Next President
Make plans to attend this historic upcoming Biennial Meeting in Minnesota

Last week in Orlando, the Presidential Search Committee was pleased to present to the board of overseers their selection for the next president of Converge Worldwide. Based upon research gained from our district conferences, information gathered in testing and interviews and through extensive prayer in seeking the leading of God, the board enthusiastically and unanimously endorsed Scott Ridout as their recommended candidate for president of Converge Worldwide.

As the recommended board of overseers candidate, Scott Ridout will be presented to the delegates at the Converge Connect 2014 Biennial Meetings, October 9-10, 2014, at Bethel University.

All Converge Worldwide pastors and leaders are strongly urged to attend this historic meeting, where we will celebrate the leadership and legacy of president Jerry Sheveland and vote on the next president of Converge Worldwide.

The Presidential Search Committee, with the assistance of Strategic Team Makers, Inc., reviewed a total of 142 applications. Thirteen candidates were tested and interviewed. From this group, four finalists were selected for further testing and additional interviews. Placing all 142 candidates against the stringent requirements of the Presidential Profile, the Search Committee found Scott Ridout most completely met these expectations.

Scott and Lisa Ridout have served at Sun Valley Community Church in Arizona since 1993. At the time, Sun Valley was a small church plant meeting in a movie theatre in Chandler, and Scott was the first youth pastor. Today Scott serves as lead pastor at Sun Valley, which by God's grace has grown to 5500 weekly attendees on three campuses in Gilbert, Tempe and Casa Grande. Scott also serves on the Lead Team of Vision Arizona, one of Converge Worldwide's most successful church planting movements. Since 2008, Scott has served as director of Generosity for Converge, empowering churches to make a greater impact in their communities and the world through generous living. Scott also served on the board of overseers for six years (2001-2007), as well as moderator for our Annual Meeting in 2008.

Scott and his wife Lisa met at Virginia Tech, where they both received their undergraduate degrees. They were married in 1988 in Philadelphia, then moved to South Carolina to work at a church restart and for Scott to earn his M.Div in evangelism at Columbia International University. They have been married for 26 years and have three children: Jon, 20, Ashlyn, 18, and David, 15.

Respectfully submitted,

Pastor John Jenkins
Chair, Presidential Search Committee

Pastor Darryn Scheske
Chair, Converge Worldwide Board of Overseers
