A Bundle of Great Joy

Babies bring joy. This time of year, we celebrate the Baby who brings great joy!

Good news, great joy, all the people: the meaning and impact of these words have intensified in the twenty centuries since they were spoken. But even the original audience, simple shepherds working the night shift, realized the heart of the historic announcement: the long-awaited Messiah had come!

The shepherds had - and we now have - the extreme pleasure and supreme responsibility of expressing the love, life, and hope wrapped up in this Bundle of great joy!

Celebrating Jesus and the salvation He brings,

David Yetter

Executive Minister (and Expectant Grandpa)

Christmas Prayer       Give thanks for Jesus, the Bundle of great joy, reigning Messiah, and coming King!
Ask God to pour out His love and mercy on the more than 2 million people and 41 central provinces in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Pray for the "Converge Philippines" pastors and churches who are well positioned to serve as relief centers and deliver a gospel message.
Pray for God's healing touch for Holly Austin, 32 year old daughter of Pastor Chuck and Janice Austin (Berryessa Valley Church, San Jose) who recently suffered a major stroke.
Pray for Lucy Helveston (wife of Pastor John Helveston, East Valley Church, San Jose) who is recovering from cornea surgery.
Pray for Healing and strength for Margaret Feinberg, keynote speaker for "Wonderstuck" (January 2014 CPW Women's Conference), as she undergoes chemo and radiation treatments for her recently diagnosed cancer.
Pray for CPW churches without Lead Pastors.  Ask God to select and send the leaders of His choosing for all open church staff positions.
Ask God to cause progress in all CPW churches toward our district goals: Better Gospel Sharing, Better Pastoral Fitness, and Better Church Health.
Ask God to continue to open doors for the gospel, so we will see people respond to Christ's invitation to salvation and to be baptized -- with a goal of 750 baptisms this year (each church baptizing 5% of their weekend attendance)!
We are asking the Lord to identify a Community and Spiritual Development Trainer who might serve us and our Haiti ministry partners in Maissade, Haiti.
