May is Church Health Month for CPW! 

Church Health Month    Every CPW church is challenged to undergo (or schedule) a spiritual assessment this month!
    This is a biblical exercise (see the churches in Revelation 2-3) and a practical aid for determining your church's strengths and weaknesses -- allowing you to address areas of concern and to celebrate and strategically build on strengths.
   CPW recommends the Natural Church Development (NCD) tool; in fact we will give a FREE NCD Assessment Pack to the first two churches that request the NCD here, and we'll give a $50 discount to the next six churches who request the Assessment Pack (available in Spanish or English). The normal NCD price through CPW is $135. For churches wishing to have coaching in NCD, I'm happy to help to whatever degree our schedules allow!
   Feel free to use any biblically based objective survey or assessment tool...

  • At a minimum, take a survey out of a book (e.g.: Vertical Church, pp. 89-92; Grace Church in Napa generously gave pastors a copy of this book at the Biennial meeting last month!).

CPW Monthly Prayer and Fasting Day
   Praise God for our inspiring Biennial Meeting where three new churches -- Redeemer of Bakersfield, Nuevo Pacto of Delano, and Living Hope of Richmond (see prayer of dedication picture above) were accepted as partner churches. We also celebrated the 640 baptisms and the average weekend attendance of 15,000+ in CPW churches in 2012. Our trainers, Jän and Ginya van Oosten, Wayne Rogers, and Judy Achilles, our keynote speaker, Dr. Phil Howard, and our hosts, the welcoming and generous people of Grace Church of Napa Valley, made the event meaningful and memorable!
   Ask God to open doors for the gospel ministry through CPW ministries and leaders as we look to be about Better Gospel Sharing -- seeing more people respond to Christ's invitation to salvation and being baptized -- with a goal of 750 baptisms next year (5% of attendance) and prayers for 1500!
   Pray for Pastor Ricardo Garcia of Restoration Outreach Christian Center in Fresno as he continues to recover from the effects of Valley Fever.
   Ask the Lord to reveal His impressions of our churches as they participate in Church Health Month. And, ask that the churches respond with faith, hope and courage to their findings.
   Pray that the Lord will use the Latino Leadership Training on June 1 to spiritually deepen our leaders and to help them identify their spiritual strengths and gifting in ministry.
   We are asking the Lord to identify a Community and Spiritual Development Trainer who might serve us and our Haiti ministry partners in Maissade, Haiti.
