Has anyone opened a door for you lately?
|
 Maybe you were holding an armful of packages, or maybe someone was being polite or gentlemanly, but occasionally someone grabs the door for you.
Honestly, that's how I'm praying for you in 2013... Paul says it this way: "Pray that God may open a door for our message, so we may proclaim the mystery of Christ"* You see, some doors require Divine intervention to be opened.
While only God holds the key to such doors, we are responsible to pray, prepare, position ourselves near doors of gospel opportunity, and then -- when the door opens -- to proclaim the good news.* So let's pray for each other, and frequently ask, "Has He opened a door for you to share the gospel lately?" I'm anxious to hear how and when He'll do it... next!

Make certain  your church has completed its Annual State of the Church Report for 2012 and be entered in the drawing for a Starbucks gift card. Send the report to Sandy before February 15 for drawing 1 & 2 and March 7 for drawing 2.

We are so happy to introduce Luis Floriano (right), Church Planter of Iglesia Gracia in Tracy, as CPW's new, part-time Hispanic Ministries Director. Luis will continue to oversee Equipo Vital (Hispanic LEAD Team), as well as develop training, events and systems to improve, deepen, and expand partnerships in starting and strengthening churches.

A Memorial Service was held honoring and celebrating the life of Rev. Cully Olson at Dwell Christian Church/Willow Glen Baptist Church on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Cully was remembered as a leader, evangelist, pastor, devoted husband and father, worshiper, and fun-loving story-teller. During Cully and Ruth's 13 years of leadership in the Northern California Baptist Conference/CPW where he served as Executive Secretary/Minister, the district grew and was strengthened. They set the standard for pastors and leaders in the Baptist General Conference. Cully is survived by his wife, Ruth, their two sons, Dan and David Olson, their daughter, Karla Adams, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 CPW's January Pastors and Wives Retreat in Pismo-Santa Maria was a great encouragement and challenge thanks to Gordon and Gail MacDonald (pictured to the right), Andrew and Natalie Fockel, the staff and support team of Grace Baptist Church of Santa Maria, and all those able to attend. "Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to re:think life and ministry!"  CPW Women's Conference in Monterey in January saw at least nine women receive Christ as Savior! All of the women learned about Stumbling into Grace from Lisa Harper. A BIG "thank you" to all the women who planned, prayed, and served. What a God-blessed outcome in the "tent of meeting"/pavilion (see picture above).

| Prayer for CPW Prayer and Fasting Day: Tuesday, February 12 |
Ask God to open doors for the gospel for CPW ministries and leaders.
Pray that God will break our hearts with things that break His.
Pray for two marriages that you know of that are in need of God's intervention
Ask God to draw two unsaved people you know to Jesus for salvation
Pray that God will break through in your church in ways that go beyond our imagination
Ask God to work powerfully in one other Converge church, and pray for that church's pastor
