For decades, Sonja Bata has scoured the world for shoes of every description, building a stunning collection of more than 13,000 incredibly rare and breathtaking artifacts.

This month, the Bata Shoe Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary as one of Toronto's foremost cultural landmarks and as a world-renowned institution with a reputation for excellence.

Come celebrate during this extraordinary year with contemporary and bold art installations, avant-garde performances, inspiring lectures, entertaining and educational family programming, and exciting community partnerships!

The celebration is kicking off with a community birthday bash---and you're all invited!

Free admission all day!

Be the first to see the new window by Ryerson University, sign the gigantic birthday card, delight in a playful atrium art installation by artist Jim Hake, experience exhibitions as they come to life, and enjoy a birthday cupcake!

Official remarks begin at noon with Founder Sonja Bata; Lieutenant Governor of Ontario The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell; Mayor John Tory; Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Drew Fagan; and Bata Museum Architect Raymond Moriyama.
