Greetings!

On behalf of PPGGNY, thank you to all those who celebrated our 40th anniversary and award luncheon held earlier this month at the Cosmopolitan Club. It felt like a warm reunion as many friends, former colleagues, mentors and friends reconnected. We are delighted to honor and recognize both Jonathan Tidd and Wally Munro, two men who have given so much to our profession. Robert Sharpe led us with his warm welcoming remarks as we raised our glasses in a toast. At the closing of Doug White's presentation, Philanthropy is Not Optional, he shared a close and personal experience that brought tears to many an eye.

Topic: Annual Gift Planning Quiz

Mr. Tidd's annual planned giving quiz is one of the highlights of our educational program for the year. His articles on charitable gift planning have appeared in the Journal of Taxation; Estate Planning; Taxes, The Tax Magazine; Trusts & Estates, and other professional journals. Formerly, Jonathan served as Planned Giving Director for New York University. Mr. Tidd is a member of the Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, and New York Bars and the 2013 recipient of PPGGNY's Lifetime Membership Award.

Andrew M. Grumet, a partner at Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, concentrates his practice in the representation of domestic and international tax-exempt organizations, charitable giving and philanthropy.

We ended the 2012-2013 membership year with 244 members; to date we have 166 members for 2013-2014...a very nice summer membership drive:
