Greetings from SUNNY Port Ludlow,
This is a BIG week ahead for all of the Northwest. The US Open is upon us - and we are thrilled to be the center of attention of the golf world. Let me know if you'll be there - hope to see many of you enjoying this beautiful course and we are all interested to see how it will look/feel on TV. Having played it several times, I'll just say, you better be in shape and hit it long and straight!

Many of you know of our "knitters" - and they are with us again this weekend. There is now a "community marketplace" as part of this remarkable group - come by if you are a knitter, know a knitter or are simply interested in learning more about it!
We have another BIG day coming up on July 4th - and we hope you'll be a part of it. The totem re-dedication will begin at 10am at Burner Point. If you would like to enjoy a potlatch lunch following, please make reservations at 360-437-7412 no later than June 26th so we can you reserve a spot. The totem has been the "place" for many memories - and a group of "locals" enjoys it here.
And THEN head on over to Fort Worden in Port Townsend for the Old School 4th of July Celebration. Visit the following link to learn more:
Did you know that tug-of-war was an Olympic Sport at one time? Fireworks will be big and I'm looking forward to the Root Beer Floats!
There is much going on with the Jefferson Land Trust, too. Please join our local conservation community at the annual breakfast - Thursday, June 25th at 7:30 at the Northwest Maritime Center. RSVP at [email protected] or call 360-379-9501, ext. 107. I'm excited to serve as emcee and introduce our new Executive Director, Richard Tucker as the torch is passed and our current ED, Sarah Spaeth becomes laser focused on the conservation work.
Oh, and while we are talking Land Trust - Save the Date for the Rainfest Auction - 10/10 at Ft. Worden.
Enormous excitement continues as the Race to Alaska is in the last stage...follow the adventurers at Race to Alaska tracker
See you around the Inn -

P.S. Here's the photo of the month.
What is this and where is it? Why would we consider this a "cool" photo? First one to respond correctly will win dinner for two at the Finnriver Farm Dinner on Friday, September 4th.
Last month's winner chose to be anonymous - but it was a photo of the new business in Port Townsend, Jane Dough's cookies. If you like shortbread, and who doesn't, stop by to see Jane and tell her Port Ludlow sent you!
