New Visitor Center Hours 

The Visitor Center will now be operating at fall/winter hours. We will be open Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

 

We will remain at this schedule until Memorial Day 2014 when our summer hours reconvene.

The shoulder season campaign promoting weekend stays in conjuction with the Seahawks games has been running for about a month. We are receiving lots of sweepstakes entries and inquiries into the hotel packages.

Per Diem Rates Unfrozen

The General Services Administration (GSA) decided to unfreeze the per diem rates for federal travel in fiscal year 2014. Rates have been recalculated to reflect market value. This is a positive outcome following last year's proposal by GSA to reduce the per diem by up to 30 percent.

Travelers visit 38 sites before booking a vacation, study says 

A new study found that travelers who visited a destination marketing organization site within the 45 days prior to booking a vacation package on an online travel agency site, made 38 visits to travel sites before purchasing the vacation package.

Even though they have similar names, there are a lot of differences between the Museum of Flight on East Marginal Way and the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour, which is located in Mukilteo, 25 miles north of Seattle. 

 

The Museum of Flight has historic aircraft and space exhibits.  The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour is home of the famous Boeing Assembly Plant Tour and offers interactive exhibits in the Gallery.  It is important to note that visitors who are not from around here can easily get confused and end up at the wrong facility.

As fall approaches, Anthony's eagerly celebrates the arrival of fresh beefsteak tomatoes! They work closely with farmers from Inaba Farms and Imperial Gardens Farm, both located just outside of Yakima Valley. These tomatoes are planted the first week of April and ripen on the vine for approximately five months, allowing the fruit sugars to develop naturally and resulting in a sweeter tomato flavor. Come by and try the Vine-Ripened Tomato Appetizer or Vine-Ripened Shrimp Stuffed Tomato!

You can get a sneak peak of the Washington State Fair a day before its kickoff, right in Westlake Park. Festivities start on 4th Avenue between Pike and Pine on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Buy a scone or a caramel apple! But hurry! Limited quantities available.
