CIC Offers Health & Safety Managers 5 Reasons for Hiring Certified Workers
Safety Managers working in Construction must oversee comprehensive risk management programs dealing with a wide variety of standards and regulations. The Clock is Ticking on Crane Operator Certification
The clock is ticking on crane operator certification...and the alarm has already rung for qualified signalpersons and riggers. As of today, the effective date for OSHA's Cranes & Derricks in Construction rule, as released in 2010, is November 2014.
Although OSHA announced a proposed implementation delay for crane operators to be certified, that delay has not yet been verified. Speaking at various industry meetings over the last several months, Jim Maddux, the head of OSHA's Directorate of Construction, has provided some insight as to what the agency plans to do. More

Kissimmee Crane School Conducts Friction Crane Practical Exams
Hans Merkel of Kissimmee Crane School, an authorized CIC Practical Examiner, reports they have conducted their first two exams for "Friction" crane designation. A 32-ton Bucyrus Erie 25-B, configured for pile driving, was used for the exam on site at the construction of new boat ramps in Disney's Magic Kingdom. More |
