Dear Parents, Students, and Friends,
The sad, sudden tragedy this week reminds us that life is fragile and difficult. The challenge lies in facing these difficult times. We do this by turning to prayer and asking God to comfort our sorrowing hearts. We know that God is always with us. It is a tragedy like this that reminds us of our frailty. As Ursuline Sisters, let us pray for Tyler, Kelly, John, and their families, as well as the Salesianum, Padua, and Ursuline communities.
O Lord, we call upon You in our time of sorrow,
That You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy
burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of
Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy
on us while we struggle to comprehend life's hardships.
Keep us ever in Your watch, til we can walk again with
light hearts and renewed spirits.
Amen "In heaven you will find complete love, which is the fulfillment of love begun on earth." St. Angela Merici
May God bless you and your families.

St. Angela, watch over all our days.

GLOBAL EDUCATION
Seven girls from the Model UN club attended the UN CSW 60
(Commission on the Status of Women conference) trip at the United Nations in New York City from Sunday, March 13th to Wednesday, March 16th. The students that attended this conference included: Carina Colon, Jhordan Gardner, Julieta Hernandez, Areeba Khan, Sophia McAneny-Droz, Ana Olszewski, and Carly Palkon along with Jacquelyn Wanner and Meg Kane-Smith as their chaperones. The girls attended a CSW orientation, where they got to meet girls from all over the world along with sisters from six other Ursuline schools, went to sessions on human trafficking and gender inequality, toured the UN, attended a General Assembly session, watched a screening of "He Named Me Malala," and ended the conference with coming together with the other six Ursuline schools to reflect on their overall experience! Along with attending the CSW 60, the girls enjoyed touring the city and saw such sites as the 9/11 memorial, Time Square, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and dined at various authentic Italian and Chinese restaurants. Overall it was an incredible educational and cultural experience for the girls!
