"If you all stand united in heart you will be strong in adversities."  St. Angela Merici

Dear Parents, Students, and Friends,

May God watch over all of our families and protect us during this winter storm.

Ursuline Prayer

Gracious God,
We come before you and ask for your blessing.  Give us the Grace to model the Ursuline values of Service, Courtesy, Loyalty, and Courage by attitude and action.  Guide us, that in the spirit of St. Angela, our relationships with others may be rooted in reverence, respect, and loving kindness.  Let deep faith, trust, and joy give energy to our efforts as we seek you and your people with generous and open hearts.  Grant this in Jesus' name and through the intercession of St. Angela.

Amen

May God bless you and your families.

STUDENT NEWS

Jane Krukiel

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country. Poetry Out Loud uses a pyramid structure. Beginning at the classroom level, winners advance to a school-wide competition, then to a state competition, and ultimately to the National Finals in Washington, DC. Over the past 10 years, Poetry Out Loud has reached nearly 3 million students, more than 9,500 schools, and thousands of teachers across the country.

The Ursuline Academy English Department is pleased to announce that the winner of this year's school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition is freshman Jane Krukiel.

Congratulations to all who participated in this year's contest, and best of luck to Jane as she advances to the Delaware state competition on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Smyrna Opera House.

GLOBAL EDUCATION

SOUTH AFRICA IS COMING!!

On April 13, 2016, a delegation of fifteen students and three faculty from our sister school Brescia House in Johannesburg, South Africa will be visiting Wilmington.  We are now accepting Host Family applications for these students.  Hosting is a wonderful way to connect with our sister schools and to learn about different cultures.  Our host families often say that they get as much out of the hosting experience as they would if they traveled to the visiting school.  Plus - hosting is a great way to satisfy one of your required Co-Curricular activities for the Global Scholars Award.  Applications are due as soon as possible and are available here.
