Legislative Update
The 113th Congress is shaping up to be one of the most significant legislative sessions in our nation's history.  Congress will debate issues impacting the p-h-c industry and PHCC's  voice on Capitol Hill depends on your participation.  Plan to be with us for this year's PHCC Legislative Conference May 22-23 in Arlington, Va., and Washington, D.C., where we'll focus on "Rebuilding America."  Join fellow PHCC leaders at the annual 2013 Legislative Conference and participate first-hand in the legislative process. Make an impact on legislative issues that are influencing your business and industry. This conference will be held from May 22-23, 2013 at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA.
You can click here to learn more about the event.  The schedule also includes an evening reception on May 22 at the Capitol.  Tickets are $100 each. This includes transportation from the Key Bridge Marriott and heavy hors d'oeuvres. It's a great experience for someone who's never done it. Legislative Chair Laurie Crigler continues to monitor action by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation DPOR that could eliminate continuing education for the plumbing, HVAC and fuel trades.  A meeting on the subject is scheduled for April 8 in Richmond.
On a companion subject, legislation that would have reconciled the terms for trades licenses and code cycles has been referred by the Governor to DPOR for review.  A recommendation should be issued by November 1.
