I've got some exciting (gulp) news...

The National Archives is flying me to Washington DC to do a program this Monday about my newest nonfiction history book, A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life Through The Seasons.

My illustrated talk will be shown live on the Internet starting at Noon Eastern/11 AM Central. To view it then, click

(If you Front cover of A Settlers Yearhappen to find yourself in DC then with nothing to do over lunch, I invite you to attend in person. The program will be in the William G. McGowan Theater, at the National Archives Museum, by the National Mall. Use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Ave and 7th Street. Afterwards I'll be signing copies of A Settler's Year, which will be available for purchase in the museum's shop.)

My talk is part of the Archives' Noon Lecture series, which is free and open to the public--in person or online.
Wish me luck!

Warm regards
