I'm writing to let you know that American Girl has jusAn American Girl Caroline Abbott doll and Garnet the calf plush toy.t announced that Caroline Abbott, the  1812 character they asked me to create and write 9 books about, is going to be "archived." 


While a date for her farewell has not been made public yet, the company is urging fans to complete their Caroline collections "soon."

As you may imagine, I'm sad and disappointed with the decision to retire Caroline. I'm also very grateful for all the amazing and wonderful memories Caroline has brought me.

I still have some Caroline events on my Calendar, including my final visit to her hometown, Sackets Harbor, NY, in July.

When AG releases more Caroline-related details, I'll be sure to share them with you. And while I'm not currently working on a project for young readers, I do have two adult books coming out this fall and am busy writing another for 2016.
