Happy New Year! I hope your holiday season was peaceful and bright, and that you have plenty of books to see you through the winter.

Speaking of books, I've got three new ones coming out this year. Something for everyone! Here's a sneak preview.
New Caroline Mystery
Cover of The Smugglers Secrets A Caroline Mystery written by Kathleen Ernst, published by American Girl
Available for Pre-Order Now
First comes The Smuggler's Secrets, which American Girl has scheduled for release on February 28th.

When Caroline visits her cousin Lydia and Uncle Aaron's farm deep in the woods, she finds evidence that someone is smuggling precious supplies to the British! Can she discover who?

The Smuggler's Secrets will be available as a paperback and for e-book apps and readers, including the Barnes & Noble Nook and the Amazon Kindle.

And, I'm planning a big book giveaway between now and the book's publication date. I'll email you the details soon.

A Non-Fiction History
For the first time in a long time I have a non-fiction title coming out! And I'm proud to say it's being published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.

A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life through the Seasons
features first-hand accounts from Wisconsin's early Yankee and European settlers, richly illustrated with gorgeous photos taken at Old World Wisconsin by Loyd Heath.

I'll share the cover and tell you more about A Settler's Year as we get closer to its September release. (BTW, if you're curious about my other non-fiction history book, click HERE.)

Next Chloe Ellefson Mystery

I'm currently under contract with Midnight Ink to write two more books in the series. The sixth, Death On The Prairie is almost finished. It will be published in October.

This spring I'll reveal (non-spoiler) plot details and photos of important artifacts and settings during a free public program in the Village of Eagle, near Old World Wisconsin. Once this event is finalized, I'll email you the date, time, and place.
Speaking of upcoming events, an almost-final list of this winter's events can be found on my online Calendar. I hope we can meet at one of them, or at least stay in touch via my website contact form, Facebook Author page, or blog.

I'm excited about a year already brimming with new projects and new reader-friends. Here's hoping 2015 is good to you and yours!

Warm regards,
