Greetings!
I've now written seven books about American Girl Caroline Abbott, who lived in Sackets Harbor, NY, on the shore of Lake Ontario, during the War of 1812.
I had a wonderful time visiting Sackets Harbor while doing research for the Caroline books. And this July I'm heading back there to take part in the first public Caroline programs to take place in her hometown!
And you are invited to attend a very special tea party for American Girl fans to be held at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site in early July.

You will be able to enjoy a formal high tea, complete with foods appropriate to Caroline's time. The tea will be served on the former grounds of the Navy's 1812 shipyard, near where Caroline's home and family shipyard were set.
I'll be sharing stories with you about how I created Caroline in my imagination, and why Sackets Harbor was the perfect place for her to live.
I'll also be taking questions, and posing for pics with attendees.
The Caroline books will be available for purchase, and I'll be signing and personalizing them.
And there will be a take-home craft activity.
If this sounds like an event you or someone you know would be interested in, then you need to act very quickly.
Two tea parties scheduled for Saturday, July 6th, filled very quickly. The third -- which will be held on Sunday morning, July 7th -- is filling fast.
| Google Maps estimates driving to Sackets Harbor takes 7 hours or less from Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington. |
Reservations are required to attend the tea, and tickets are $25 per person. To reserve your place, call the park right away at (315) 646-3634.
I'm very excited about returning to Sackets Harbor. I hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
|
