Greetings!
I'm Kathleen Ernst, author of the American Girl stories about Caroline Abbott, a brave girl who lived 200 years ago on the shore of Lake Ontario in the port of Sackets Harbor, NY, during the War of 1812.
I'm writing to tell you some exciting news!
My next Caroline book comes out February 26th -- and it's a mystery! When Caroline learns that British spies may be lurking in Sackets Harbor, she is worried.
Then, a long lost friend of Papa's shows up.
Papa is delighted to give him a job at the Abbott Shipyard, but soon, strange things start going wrong. Caroline is sure a spy is making trouble at the yard, but is it one of Abbott's trusted workers, whom she has known all her life, or could it be Papa's dear friend? Traitor In The Shipyard is written for readers age 8 and up, especially those who enjoy mysteries and historical fiction. It contains a richly illustrated "Looking Back" section that discusses the role of spies in the War of 1812.
This is the seventh book in the Caroline Abbott series. All of them are available in paperback and as e-books that can be read on Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's Nook. The first six books are also available as a boxed set of paperbacks that includes a "Caroline's Favorite Things" board game.

Previews, reviews, photos, and stories about my fifteen American Girl books, including the Josefina, Kirsten, Kit, and Molly mysteries that I have written, can be found by visiting my website.
I hope you have as much fun reading the Traitor in the Shipyard mystery as I did writing it! And I invite you to tell all your American Girl friends about Caroline's newest adventure.
Warm regards,
