Greetings!
It was such a joy to be back on the island!
I've spent most of the past six weeks on the road to help introduce my six books about Caroline Abbott, the new historical character I created for American Girl. While it has been exciting to visit Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, the Twin Cities, and Washington, DC -- it has also at times been stressful. But the visit to Washington Island was nothing like that. My husband Scott and I were happy to find still-vibrant fall colors as we drove from the dock to Findlay's Holiday Inn.
I was honored by the Washington Island Women's Club's invitation to speak at their October meeting. What an appropriate venue for my first program about the newest Chloe mystery, which is set on Washington and Rock!
The fun continued Wednesday at Islandtime Books. My thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat, buy books, and have them signed. It was a joy to see long-time friends, and make new ones! Special thanks to owner Kathleen Dixon for keeping her shop open an extra week to support these events.
I write about places I love and people I admire...which is why I chose to set a novel on the islands. E veryone has been so welcoming and supportive--to Scott and me as docents at Pottawatomie Lighthouse, and to me as I researched, wrote, and launched The Light Keeper's Legacy. That means more than I can ever say.
Warm regards,
