Greetings!
Great news! Kathleen and her book The Light Keeper's Legacy have just won the 2013 LOVEY Award for Best Traditional Mystery! This honor was bestowed by a vote of the readers, writers, agents, and publishers attending this weekend's Love Is Murder mystery writers' conference in Chicago, the Midwest's premier mystery/romantic suspense/thriller gathering. As you can see, Kathleen was both surprised and delighted to receive this wonderful honor! Other winners included New York Times bestselling author William Kent Krueger, who won the 2013 LOVEY Best Series Award for his hugely popular Cork O'Connor novels.
The Light Keeper's Legacy is the third book in Kathleen's Chloe Ellefson Historic Sites mystery series from publisher Midnight Ink. Last year the Council for Wisconsin Writers awarded her second Chloe mystery, The Heirloom Murders, their prize for Best Fiction Book. The Chloe mysteries are available as trade paperbacks and in electronic versions for the Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Sony, and other e-book readers and apps. Kathleen and I thank you very much for your ongoing support of her work. Please forward this news to anyone you think might be interested.
Best regards,
Scott (aka "Mr. Ernst")
