Best of the Best
Maria Oliva (left) Pathway's Chief Operating Officer, and Laurie Geschrey, Director of VIVA! Legacy, accept the award.
Pathway's VIVA! Legacy program provides a culture that encourages residents to communicate their living and dying wishes along with the framework to honor those wishes, thereby helping residents live life to the fullest and on their own terms.

This innovative, albeit unusual, approach has earned Pathway an
Argetum "Best of the Best" Award and national recognition for advancing excellence in the senior living field.
Life Planning
Beyond Retirement
Even the best planners don't typically map out life beyond retirement. Advanced age, however, is a crucial time to live well and with purpose. As long as there's life to live, why not plan for living the best life possible?
Find out how Pathway's award-winning VIVA! Legacy program is making it easier for people to plan for the inevitable while enjoying today.

All Ages Gallery
Budding-artists from grade school students to octogenarians exhibited their masterpieces side-by-side at Alexian Village's inaugural art show. Attendees enjoyed ice cream and got to create their own "30 minute masterpieces." "This was one of the best things I've seen here," said Alexian Village resident Nancy. "I really enjoyed it!"

Do the Fandango!
Everyone got an A+ when children from the Grupo Folkorico Quetzal Spanish Dance Troupe taught Victory Centre of Bartlett residents about Spanish culture and performed traditional dances in authentic costumes.

Buzz-worthy Spelling Champs!
Three Pathway teams won the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition's 2016 Spelling Bee regional contests and will advance to the state championship in Springfield, IL on June 1-2.

108-Year-Old's Sage Advice
Henry Munford of Victory Centre of South Chicago, who celebrated his 108th birthday this month, shares advice for a long and happy life. Henry says, be honest, don't stress about what you can't control, get plenty of sleep and eat right. That's good counsel from a WWII veteran who learned how to cook in the Army and later opened a restaurant on Chicago's south side named after his wife, "Florence."

Supporting Autism Speaks
Braving a windy and cold spring morning, Victory Centre of Vernon Hills residents and team members joined the Autism Speaks Walk at Soldier Field and raised $510 to support those affected by autism.

Most Creative Moves
Alexian Village won "Most Creative Community" in the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition's "Keep Moving" statewide activity. Residents demonstrated the most unique and effective ways to earn miles as a group with weekly dance parties, where the song "Uptown Funk" was a favorite!
