Pathway seniors make spirits bright
all year long through their
"Sharing and Caring" program.
Raising Money for Worthy Causes
While participating in a variety of fun and social activities in 2014, Pathway seniors also raised $7,346 for causes near and dear to their hearts, including The Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Children's Voice, National Down Syndrome Society, Moose Charities and Toys for Tots.
Caring for Kids
From reading with kindergartners to hosting a pajama and book drive to donating school supplies, Pathway seniors cared for children from Chicago's Roseland neighborhood all the way north to Round Lake Beach!
Honoring Heroes
As a way to say "thank you" to local first responders, Alexian Village and Victory Centres of Roseland and Sierra Ridge invited policemen, firemen and paramedics over for hot lunches and warm hugs.
Helping the Homeless
Pathway seniors cared for the homeless by sewing quilts for Freedom House homeless shelter in Green Bay, WI, bringing coats to those living on Chicago's lower Wacker Drive and making "plarn" out of plastic bags to help support New Life for Old Bags in the creation of sleeping mats for the homeless.
'Tis the Season
Helping make the season bright, Victory Centre of Vernon Hills seniors "adopted" a family of six to buy gifts for this Christmas, Victory Centre of Galewood seniors made ornaments for the food trays at
Shriner's Children's Hospital and Alexian Village seniors collected toys and gift cards for
Cal's Angels.
