Newlyweds, Again!
Celebrating 58 years of marriage this year, Gail and Richard said "I do" again on Valentine's Day. Victory Centre of Bartlett hosted its 7th annual Vow Renewal Ceremony with five couples re-pledging their love. Bartlett's Executive Director, also an ordained Chaplain, presided over the ceremony and everyone celebrated with a slice of wedding cake. Thanks to a March 1956 snowstorm, Gail and Richard had a white wedding then...and today!

Prom Fashions Warm Hearts
National Honor Society students from Bartlett High School set hearts a flutter when they modeled trendy, smart formalwear at a recent Prom Fashion Show at Victory Center of Bartlett. Sporting long, flowing prints to short, flirty dresses, the girls walked the runway in fashions more risqu than what most Bartlett residents recall wearing to their proms! The show was a blast and a nice reminder that spring is coming. Click here for more photos.

Love Is Ageless
Friendship turned to love for Laverne and James Reed of Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge when the two, both in their 60s, tied the knot last January. One year later, their love still burns brightly. "She's a good wife; always fussing over me," says James. "He keeps me positive," says Laverne. Both say the first year of marriage flew by. They took a honeymoon cruise and returned home to adjust to life together. This Valentine's Day, Laverne got a red rose and chocolates and James got a bottle of cologne, sweet! Read more.

The Rodriguez's live at Oak Hill Supportive Living Community along with Lynda Vackar, a retired minister who has presided over hundreds of weddings. Inspired by the Valentine season, they asked their neighbor Lynda to officiate one more wedding...and she said "yes!" Never Too Old for New Friends
|
Carmen and Bill, who both live at Victory Centre of Galewood, met in the community's lobby. Making small talk, they learned that they both love taking long walks and dancing. Step-by-step, their friendship grew. Today they say they find comfort knowing that each is there for the other and are happy to have someone to confide in and trust.
