Big Reuse supports Refoundry

Refoundry provides formerly incarcerated people with wood and metal working skills, allowing them to turn discarded construction materials into beautiful, repurposed home furnishings.

We've been sharing our Brooklyn warehouse space with Refoundry, and we're happy to highlight the recent feature they received in Metro. We think they're filling an important role, and they make some pretty awesome stuff, too!

Big Reuse in the Wild

Material from the Big Reuse warehouse was recently released back into the wild and now forms the backbone of the Newtown Creek Living Dock! The dock comes from the inspiration and hard work of the good folks at the Newtown Creek Alliance. Its purpose is to provide a clean habitat for plants and animals in the highly polluted waterway.

The NCA is hosting an event October 18th at noon to celebrate completion of the dock. Come out and see the various marine organisms that managed to find affordable housing in NYC!

Big Reuse on Tap

Restaurateur and designer Rachel Allswang found an old bowling lane among the treasures of the Big Reuse warehouse and knew that it could be the perfect centerpiece for her new Bushwick bistro Le Garage.

We're happy we could help Rachel bring her vision to life! Le Garage will be opening its doors soon. Head on over for a taste of Paris in Brooklyn.
