Last week NYC's recycling program expanded to include all RIGID plastics. If you're like us, "rigid" may need to be further defined, so we found some tips on the new recycling rules for NYC.

Plastics accepted in NYC's recycling program:

• plastic containers (plastic bottles, yogurt cups, margarine tubs, plastic clamshell and other plastic takeout containers); 
• plastic food service items (plastic cups & utensils);
• bulky plastic items (plastic toys, laundry baskets & furniture).

• plastic foam products;
• plastic bags and wrappers;  
• squeezable plastic pouches and tubes (such as baby food pouches and toothpaste tubes).
