Workshops Return to BIG!NYC!

Build It Green!NYC has revamped, revitalized and reinstated our classes and in the spring of 2013, we are re-launching BIG!Workshops: low cost do-it-yourself classes focused on learning how to create with reusable materials. These workshops cater to NYC's environmentally conscious citizens who are searching for the skills needed to use old items in new ways. BIG!Workshops strives to educate and empower more individuals to incorporate reuse in their projects. 

Parents, bring your children to have a fun filled family crafting session and learn how to take what some might call "junk", and create shadow puppets! Have some things laying around the house you'd like to get rid of? Bring them along to add to the pile of craftscrapticle goodies.

 

Join us for our inaugural "Bagel and BIG!NYC" where we'll have some breakfast snacks and crafting! Course fee $55.

The Community Environmental Center (CEC) is pleased to announce that it will receive the 2013 Environmental Quality Award, along with the American Littoral Society. Nominated by New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, both non-profits will receive the Environmental Protection Agency's prestigious honor for their commitment and significant contributions to greening the city.
