Put the Pedal to the Metal for Compost & Dry Leaf Shredding!

Last fall, BIG!Compost used a human powered bike to shred leaves collected during Project Leaf Drop. Now the creators of the Foliage Shredders, DB Co-op, are seeking used exercise bikes to build more shredders. The design/build incubator's mission is to build human and alternatively powered vehicles for urban agriculture, goods distribution, and mobile businesses. DB Co-op is looking for exercise bicycles and push reel mowers in order to manufacture a production of 10 Foliage Shredders (pictured above).

The Exerbikes:

DB Co-op is looking for a set of 5-20 exercise bicycles of the same make and model. They prefer: Schwinn XR-7, Schwinn Exerciser, and Tunturi.

The Push Reel Mowers:

They are seeking the same make and model, but it is less imperative than the exerbikes. The ideal set of mowers will be the same width.
