Hello friends! We hope that everyone is safe, dry and fairing well in Hurricane Sandy's aftermath. Our Astoria reuse center survived the storm. The Gowanus reuse center was not so lucky. After the Gowanus Canal overflowed, a five foot wall of water broke into the reuse center, ruining much in it's path.
Along with most of New York, we've been cleaning up after the super-storm. If anyone is in the neighborhood and looking to lend a hand, we welcome the help! Please feel free to come by the Gowanus reuse center today (Thurs. Nov 1) from 11am to 4pm to help clean up after Sandy! It is important to wear work boots and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
