"Keep a True Lent" - Faith Cotter

4 WEEK SERIES

According to the historical stories in the bible, Moses, Elijah, and Jesus observed a 40-day period of prayer and fasting to prepare for spiritual work. Set on a spiritual foundation, Lent is a season of cleansing the mind and body; however, we often only give up physical or material things that have one dimensional value to our lives.

The "Keep a True Lent" class, based on the book of the same name by Charles Filmore, will focus on the idea that one prepares for the resurrected soul by also disciplining the mind in order to be more receptive to God and Christ ideas. Charles Filmore writes, "Lent is a season of spiritual growth, a time for progressive unfoldment. When we can blend and merge our mind with God-Mind, the way is open for the Lord to glorify us and lift us into a higher, purer, more spiritual state."

Please join Faith Cotter for a four-week spiritual journey through key concepts of awakening the spiritual mind for communion with God during the Lenten season.

Over the past 10 years Ms. Cotter has taught numerous metaphysical classes, attended over 140 hours of biblical teachings through Unity Church of Christianity and was certified as a Prayer Chaplain. In addition, Ms. Cotter is an Ordained Minister through Universal Life Church and is on the Christian Board of Education at First Congregational Church of Winter Park.
