New on the Menu:
Community Eligibility Provision

A new opportunity is coming to New Hampshire that could help ensure more students start their day with a healthy school breakfast. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) allows schools in high-poverty areas to offer both breakfast and lunch free of charge to all students.

No child should start the school day hungry and this new opportunity can help.

Juvenile Justice Reform:
What it Means for NH's Kids

NH Kids Count, with coalition partners, introduced and succeeded in passing HB1624, legislation that not only raises the age at which kids are tried as adults to 18, but also includes measures ensuring juveniles can access appropriate counseling and rehabilitation services.

This legislative victory for kids comes after national sweeping juvenile justice reforms. NH Kids Count takes a look back and discusses what these changes mean for our kids.

NH Lags in Opportunities
for Children of Color

The Annie E. Casey Foundation's new national scorecard entitled Race for Results: Building a Path of Opportunity for All Children, studied how children are progressing on key milestones across racial and ethnic groups.

While NH's index scores were higher than average, the report illustrated significant areas for improvement in the Granite State.
