What's Happening at Sequoia
October Featured Show
October 6 - 30
First Tuesday Reception, October 6th, 5 pm - 8 pm

Sequoia is full of activity this month. The Plein Air Painting event is underway as our newsletter reaches your inbox; the gallery is getting ready to display works from the many painting events that will happen over the four day event.

Sequoia is also gearing up for the holiday season,
with members and volunteers currently making
ornaments and unique art gifts for our Holiday Gift Show and Sale in December and our Annual Holiday Ornament Tree which will be set up in our window next month.

Don't miss viewing the Plein Air Show on First Tuesday in our gallery.
Plein Air Art Show
First Tuesday, Oct 6, 5 - 8 pm we will host our Opening Reception for Plein Air @ Washington County 2015. Sequoia Gallery + Studios presents the competition this year for the first time, carrying on the 8 year tradition of  Hillsboro Plein Air Plus.  We have artists from the Pacific NW and beyond painting our diverse County, spanning cities and farms, vineyard scenes and coastal mountain views, charming taverns and the vibrant Downtown Hillsboro Saturday Farmers' Market.  The works will be judged by award-winning Judge Yer Za Vue to select the prize winners.

Sequoia Gallery will show a select grouping of the paintings, including the award winners for top prizes in several categories, in our gallery October 6 - 31. October is also Hillsboro Arts Month. Our show will be one of the featured events in this community celebration of the diverse arts thriving in Hillsboro.

Holiday Gift Show
Do your holiday gift shopping at our gallery! On December 4th and 5th our gallery, hallways, studios, and classroom will be filled with gift-worthy original works of art created by both our own Sequoia artists as well as members of the public.

Hours:
Friday, December 4th, 4-8pm
Saturday, December 5, 10am -5pm

Proceeds from the sale of gift items will benefit Sequoia's non-profit mission to bring quality art and art programming to the greater Hillsboro community.

We are also seeking artists and craftspeople from the community to participate - please tell your artist friends!  We will only have room for approximately 20 tables, so it is important to get your applications in early.

Holiday ornament tree
For the fifth consecutive year, Sequoia will be displaying its Holiday Ornament Tree in the front window of the gallery beginning in November. The tree will be hung with fused glass ornaments, as well as ornaments made from a wide variety of mediums. Both Sequoia members and volunteers contribute to the over 150 ornaments on the tree.

All proceeds from this annual fundraising sale help Sequoia to continue offering you high quality art and art programming throughout the year.
