Rebecca Buchanan
 | Untitled, Rebecca LS Buchanan |
Rebecca Buchanan's compositions are of houses and neighborhoods. She has been layering houses over other houses and sanding and erasing. The history is being changed and made new. Rebecca loves the idea of who has lived in the houses, secrets untold, and the stories within.
She enjoys skewing the angles and simplifying lines and uses pencil, acrylics and tape (her favorite medium) on board.
Rebecca has her Painting degree from Portland State Universtiy (2003) and teaches art to high school students.

Martin conley
 | Fill In #1, Martin Conley |
Martin will be showing a style of work different than his usual wood sculpture during the October show. The works include found metal pieces with wood added to them to create different textures and finishes to his works. Martin believes this extends his creative boundaries and allows more versatility of shapes and forms resulting in more complex, interesting sculptures. He is also working on what he calls his Earthquake series which corresponds with the paintings of Rebecca Buchanan. Martin wanted to create a sculptural interpretation of Buchanan's paintings that will also be on display during the October show.
Martin graduated with a Fine Art degree from the University of Oregon in 1977. He has been showing and displaying art around Hillsboro, beginning in 2011. His work can be seen in several businesses in the downtown Hillsboro area.

change around us. She is particularly drawn to the changing light in fall, the warm color, and that occasional sense of melancholy that is noticed at the change of a season. Gayle paints from photographs she has taken, mostly in Washington County, but some are from her travels. They capture the light that we see in everyday scenes, elevating them to a rare moment in our day.
Gayle has studied in various mediums. Art History was her major in college, until she switched her studies to nursing. Her creativity extends to her garden that she and her husband Michael have transformed over the last 30 years. She cares for and maintains about 2 acres on their farm in Gaston. Gayle is employed by Tuality Home Health as an RN. Her career presents the opportunity of driving around Washington County where many of the photos for this show were taken.
