What's Happening at Sequoia June 2014
Greetings!

This month, Sequoia Gallery walls will be filled with the work of Sequoia students and their teachers.  Sequoia's educational program draws from a talented pool of instructors, many of whom are well known regionally and nationally.  In turn, our instructors draw a dedicated group of students that include eager beginners as well as experienced artists.  Come meet some of our students and instructors at our June Opening Reception.

Celebrating Sequoia Students and teachers

The month of June brings the return of our show celebrating the work of our creative students and their talented teachers. Our classes attract an well-know, experienced group of instructors whose teaching specialties include oil painting, watercolor, mixed media, mosaic,  portraiture and Smart Phone art. Each of our instructors has a unique style of teaching and develops a devoted following.

The student work has been inspired by the following teachers:

Lynn Adamo: Mosaic

Summer's Banquet, Donna Clark

Brenda Boyland: Pastel

Eric Jacobsen: Oils

Linda Jerome: Oils

Steve Kleier: Watercolor

Royce Kugler: Oils

Call to Artists: Around Hillsboro Show

Artists throughout the area are invited to participate in a open, non-juried art exhibition at Sequoia Gallery featuring scenes,

impressions,  and memories of Hillsboro. The show is open to anyone who loves our charming town and would like to try their hand at representing their vision of Hillsboro in a 2D or 3D work of art. To enter the show, visit our website, pick up an application at the gallery, or download an application here: Around Hillsboro Show Application

LED LIGHT BULB CAMPAIGN UPDATE

This spring we announced our campaign to raise the funds to replace all of the halogen light bulbs in the gallery with more energy efficient LED light bulbs. So far, we have received funds to replace 25 of our 35 light bulbs. Thanks  to our generous contributors, the Gallery is looking better and better.

There is still time to contribute to the LED Light Bulb Fund. A donation of $20 will cover the cost of one LED Bulb. Checks may be mailed to Sequoia Gallery, 136 SE Third Ave. Hillsboro, OR 97123. Credit and debit donations can be called in at 503-693-0401. Be sure to let us know it is for LED lighting. Sequoia Gallery + Studios is a 501 c3 non-profit organization, so your donation is tax deductible as well.
Call to Artists!

Sequoia is seeking artists for gallery membership. Both 2D and 3D artists of all mediums are welcome to apply for membership in our active community of artists. Download an application from our website or stop by the gallery to pick up an application. For more information, contact Linda Jerome; jeromelk@me.com

Volunteering at Sequoia

Whether you are an artist, collector, or someone who just appreciates fine art, you can help Sequoia by volunteering to help staff the gallery.  Gallery staffers serve 4 hour shifts on the days of their choosing, depending on slots available. Volunteer applications are available at the gallery.

Sincerely,
Sequoia Gallery + Studios
