Continuing the "Omi Architecture Workshop" in conjunction with the first year students at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union in New York City, Architecture Omi is pleased to announce the installation of "Drawing us out: Drawing in the Woods (for Lebbeus)." Led by David Gersten, Aida Miron and Uri Wegman, faculty members at the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture with the assistance of Architecture Omi's board chair Lee Skolnick and Program Director Peter Franck, and Associate Dean of the School of Architecture Elizabeth O'Donnell. The project explores the relationships between time, perception, drawing, working at the scale of a model and the scale of architecture.

The exhibition opening and reception will take place on Saturday, June 15h from 1-5 pm in conjunction with two other exhibitions by Architecture Omi featuring work by Janet Echelman and Brian Brush of architectural firm E/B Office. Visitors are encouraged to enter through the Visitors Center at Omi International Arts Center, located at 1405 County Route 22 in Ghent, New York.

Commonly known as the "End of Year Show," this annual exhibition transforms the classrooms and studios of The Cooper Union into galleries showcasing work from the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, the School of Art, and the Albert Nerken School of Engineering.

Exhibition Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday, 12 - 7pm
Closed Sundays and Mondays

Free and open to the public.

INVITATION TO CONTRIBUTE | The mission of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation is to expand knowledge and cultural recognition of women's contributions to 20th-century American architecture and built environment. The Dynamic National Archive (DNA) is part of an ongoing project to catalog the names, biographies, and work of female architects and designers who have contributed to the development of the places and spaces of the United States. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS | Nova Organa encourages the reopening of aesthetic thinking. The included written and visual work utilizes new and forgotten methods of fiction, critique, and philosophy in the creation of art/architecture theory and thinking.The publication does not exist as an organ of discipline; instead it is rumination and accumulation. DESIGN COMPETITION | The Workplace of the Future Design Competition asks the design community to imagine what our work lives will be in 2020. The $7,500.00 prize, plus world-wide publicity for the winning entry will help position the chosen team or individual as  leaders in innovative workplace design; it will also help propel their vision forward.  There will also be a $2,500.00 runner-up prize. JAE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS | The JAE invites unpublished text-based (Scholarship of Design) and design-based (Design as Scholarship) submissions for publication in the Spring 2014 issue (Volume 68:1) that explores how architectural praxis and pedagogy are being transformed by techniques, modes of inquiry, issues, discourse, and operational tactics drawn from other disciplines. CONFERENCE SUBMISSIONS | The Mediated City conference offers a platform for multiple and diverse examinations of the city. It aims to bring people together from diverse backgrounds and fragment, multiply and reconfigure our readings of the city; to offer multiple and conflicting discipline perspectives. The intention is to share views of the city as physical entity, online community, film set, photographic backdrop, geographical map, sociological case study, political metaphor, digital or video game etc.... - to examine it as a mediated and shared phenomenon.
