Greetings!

 

We are pleased to provide you with our Fall 2013 Catholic Charities E-news. We invite you to learn more about the vision of Catholic Charities through the Ministries of Mercy, Life, Food and Clothing, and Shelter programs.  

 

Catholic Charities has offices in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties. We recently opened two new offices in Spring Hill and Homosassa and a women's shelter in Pasco. We are excited for our growth and the ability to bring more services to the community.    

 


And because of the the sharing of your time, talent, and treasure, we were able to serve over 14,246 individuals and families during the 2012-2013 fiscal year. 

 

 

 

 



 

 

Twins: a double blessing 

Frances and Johnny had been in a relationship for about six years and already had three children together. The youngest child was almost two years old and their oldest daughter had some health challenges. The father was unemployed and the mother had been unable to work during the pregnancy. When the couple learned Frances was pregnant with twins, they began to consider adoption.

Victor Goes Home - Adoption Services  

 

   

Notre Dame Catholic School students in Spring Hill listen as we discuss the importance of respecting all life.  

 

     

The Respect Life Ministry of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church donated over $5000 of supplies to stock the boutique shelves.

 

   

St. Mark's Catholic Church donated Christmas gifts.

With your help, we provided 18,320 baby and maternity items plus 70,068 diapers to support mothers and babies in the 2012-2013 fiscal year.






 

"Ediel Garcia, owner of a four bedroom house in Tampa, turned to Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg to offer his home for rent for a refugee family. Little did he know he too would walk away having received helped!."

The Road to Recovery - Access to Recovery

      

 

  

   

With your help, we provided case management, life skills, job placement education, free medical care, and support services to improve stability for 8,173 families and individuals in the 2012-2013 fiscal year.



 

 

   



 

 

Decethia and George 

"We are happy and I smile every day," Decethia Garrett states. "My husband is no longer depressed and is proud once again to be able to provide for his family." Decethia and George Garrett turned to Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg after he lost his job and she began to struggle with epilepsy. "We hit rock bottom," Decethia says. "We felt hopeless and could not see the light."
