Fran Zygmont, a local and longtime avid birder, will tell of travels of migratory birds to and from their wintering grounds. Why do birds migrate? Where do they go? Fran will answer these questions and explain how weather plays a part in migration. He will also reveal amazing facts that you will hardly believe!

About the Presenter
Fran maintains a bird list of over 1,000 species and has extensive knowledge of the local birds one is likely to see throughout the year in Litchfield County and the state. Fran grew up on Cotton Hill in New Hartford and now lives in Barkhamsted. He is a Board member and past President of the Litchfield Hills Audubon Society.
