Saturday, February 28th

10:00 a.m.

Join NHLT and CCSU Master's degree student Kyle Testerman for a guided
snowshoe walk looking for signs of
animals that use the NHLT's Alfred Sabolcik property. Kyle will describe
and help us find evidence of wildlife including snow tracks. He will also talk about the natural history, ecology, and conservation of several species. At the
end of the walk, you can watch him set
up one of the triggered cameras he is
using in his research about predators
of the New England Cottontail,
a species of highest conservation
concern in CT.

Please e-mail us or call 860-480-4844
for directions, more information and to
let us know you're coming so we know
how many people to expect.

(Note: Sabolcik Road is accessible only from East Cotton Hill Road at this time of year. NHLT volunteers will be on the Road to show you where to park and gather. This property is not open to the public yet, only for special programs. Our goal is to open it for hiking early this summer. Volunteers welcome for spring work days!)

Let us know if you would like to borrow snowshoes as we have a few extra pairs.
