Mark represented New Hartford as an alternate on the Farmington River Coordinating Committee (FRCC) for many years. He was active with NHLT, helping with many work days over the years and was there when we really needed his help as an accomplished carpenter and woodworker. He helped keep a great bonfire burning for folks at our Fall Frolics over the past few years!

Our deepest sympathy goes to Mark's wife, Alison Murdock, a very great friend to NHLT and wonderful partner to us in her role as Chair of the New Hartford Conservation Commission, and to their daughter, Karla.

See you on the trail, Mark.
We will miss you!

Obituary for Mark Lindquist

 Dear Friends,

The New Hartford Land Trust and our community have lost a dear friend and neighbor, Mark Lindquist. Mark leaves his beloved wife and life partner, Alison Murdock, and their daughter, Karla Lindquist. He passed away on May 20th at age 57.

Mark was a straight talking guy who knew how to have a good time and enjoy life. He worked very hard for his family and himself at his avocation and craft, carpentry and fine woodworking.

He loved the outdoors and was a longtime supporter of the New Hartford Land Trust - contributing time and energy and talent to help us with our lands - and of the Farmington River Coordinating Committee. Mark's partnership with his wife, Alison, was inspiring. Her commitment to the preservation of natural resources in our community is demonstrated through her leadership of the New Hartford Conservation Commission and her dedication to the Farmington River and to the NHLT. Mark shared these values and was invested in protecting the natural world and our planet in his own, behind-the-scenes way.

Our deepest sympathies go to Alison, Karla, and all of Mark's family and beloved friends and colleagues.

A memorial service for Mark will be this Sunday, June 8th, at noon at Berkshire Hall in Brodie Park, New Hartford.

Our community has lost a friendly, honest and lovely spirit in Mark's passing. We will miss him dearly.
